Elkin Music International has a reputation for being able to supply all music publications, no matter how obscure. Customers the world over recognize Elkin as the best source for music and books on music.
The Elkin musical heritage began in London, England,
a century ago, in 1903, with the founding of Elkin & Co.,
Ltd., a music publishing firm. Decades later the family-owned
Elkin catalog was sold to Novello & Co., Ltd. (now part of
the Music Sales Group) and in 1966 William Elkin and his wife,
Anne, formed their own company, William Elkin Music Services.
From a dining room in Brundall, just outside Norwich, their company
grew into a major wholesaler, with several warehouses, a retail
shop, and a branch office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Through the establishment of the Florida branch,
Elkin Music International, Bill and Anne formed a lifelong friendship
with Dr. Timothy Sloan, who has managed the company since its
beginning and who purchased the business in 1995. Bill passed
away in 1999, Anne in 2002, but the Elkin heritage continues on.
Dr. Sloan now operates the business from the mountains
of North Carolina.
